Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 05 Apr 2025
Many in the world are now faithfully observing the religious period of Lent, a man-made activity to usher in the passion week of Christ. There is a nauseating publicity about this that makes anyone query how this relates to fasting that Jehovah accepts. The how of fasting that the Bible teaches is so very different from the way fasting is done in many churches today, no wonder the expected reward is not forthcoming. Many only fast to fulfill religious obligations and must let their religious leaders know whilst others fast just to belong, hence they have to broadcast it publicly for all to see. Today’s scripture tells us Jehovah is not moved by such fast and will not reward you for it. You want to fast right? Let the Bible teach you how and follow the teaching and your reward is sure.
